While what you are saying is correct, I believe Ms. Black is expressing the certainty that the earth does, infact, rotate every 24 hours.
Also, Id argue there is more room to kick it in the front, than sit in the back.
How so, the dash board is the only place, the steeringwheel is in the way on the drivers side, whereas there is two areas in the rear, possibly three.
Also, this in itself is purely academic as day or night technically never finishes, as a portion of the planet is illuminated and another is shrouded at any given time.
