Film Viewer Question or Maybe a Bug???
« on: August 06, 2010, 07:19:00 PM »
When in film viewer, I try to maneuver around the screen and have found out that my up/down arrows do not work to move me forward or backward.  I have to "turn" sideways and use the left/right arrows to move forward and backward in the film.  Also, after a few minutes of doing this, I get a "dinging" sound everytime I try to use the left/right arrows.  My default views are Internal and Pan.  Is there a film viewer download so I can re-install it or do I have a buggy system and have to deal with it?  Any other suggestions?  Thanks.

Same problem,

As for the case of the up and down arrows, its PageUP and PageDOWN

The dinging sound can be stopped by pausing the film (not really needed) and pressing the "Default View" button.

The dinging is a Windows sound, "Default beep" to be precise.  It happens when you have something other then the actual film selected (such as just having selected a different person).  Not sure if there is a way to stop the program from doing that (short of not having anything else selected when moving), but you can turn that sound off if you wish.

As for the moving forward/back (assuming you mean like moving closer to the gunsight from seat), not sure why it does that.  Mine seems to work fine.

I asked the same question but found my own solution
go to your preferences/key commands and make sure "up arrow" is move head forward. This fixed my problem.
