While it is an interesting novelty in something like an FSO frame.  In the MA it is nothing but annoying and would cause me to log off and do something else.

it would be great if we could get the (Moon) out longer and make it last for a while kinda like we did in fso starting out with night fall for a while flying to are primary targets.. im just tired of seeing that dang sun 24-7 in here

I'll have to vote against this one.  Simply because I don't have a really good graphics card, and it is hard for me to see my targets, even at twilight.  If I had a better graphics card, it would be different.

On the other hand, having a night time scenario, with radar equipped night fighters might be fun.

Way back when there was a full night cycle in the MA.  It's actually in the arena settings, I can't say what the official reason for changing to the current system however from my experience and memory of it once the novelty wore off it was just sort of annoying I would usually log for 20-30 minutes till the sun came up again. 

One of those things that tend to sound better as a concept than a reality.

     
From what I've read, that was the general consensus. Either every one adjusted their gamma, doing away with the darkness, or logged off.
