HTC said a while back it was a merger with bill. not a sale. he walked from that to make this

If you want to pay $35. here is the doc on the merger.

I briefly looked over it the preview, basically I looks as if there was 10 million shares in stock, with about 5 mill in outstanding. Baring that ~1% was reserved for employee intensive plans, aka stock options. It looks like all their options got converted to preferred 'A' shares of Wild Bills co. at an exchange ratio of 0.2592. I'm not sure how much thats worth (would need to look up historical prices on NASDAQ:IMGK, ticker is no longer valid), but either way, Hitech is a sharp guy and I'm sure he got a more than decent deal....

Also, Hitech may have been bound via contract to say at  INTERACTIVE CREATIONS/iMagic for a period of time as is often the case, as its people & intellectual property that is really what the other company is going for as well as the game itself.

Who's to say this is where he makes his living?

If he wanted money, I'm sure he would have put his skills to use elsewhere by now.

Who is to say that it is not?

Who is to say that this game is not a cash cow?

Perhaps he is just content, unlike a lot of customers.  The worst part of owning most businesses is the customers.

If I was making a living developing a niche-market video game that did not have anything resembling close competition, which was played by folks worldwide (that have developed a crack-like addiction to it), with only a handful of staff to pay, owned my own plane, lived somewhere warm, had a cute little wife and a youngin' on the way, I would tell you all to kiss my bellybutton and that you could get your updates and wishes fulfilled when I was damn good and ready.

So...   be glad that I do not own the joint.  :aok

He doesn't have to look at all your whining and sobbing and crying.
He doesn't have to supply this game with constant updates and changes.
He doesn't have to keep his servers up and running for you to play in.

He chooses to. Get over yourselves, it's pathetic.
Offer articulate, thought out suggestions. Stop with the "ARENA
CAPS SUCK!!1!" nonsense.

End of rant.

You guys think you have it rough here? ROFLMAO

Been playing a fair amount of World of Tanks lately.

Aces High                                        WoT

Made in USA                                     Dev's are in Belrussia (distributors in London)

HT reads AH forums regularly               Dev's read Russian language forums.
HT responds directly to some posts      Paid gopher named Overlord once in a while will post on english forums.
HT will change FM, modeling if you can  Wot tanks balanced by game statistics. So if lots of unskilled noobs use
come up with correct data from good    a russian tank poorly Dev's balance by Nerfing US or German tanks.
source.

When AH  population got big, HT split arena's  So you could choose between early, mid, late war
Arena's. Yes you might have squad mates, and friends in different arena's. But you could still talk to them.

When WoT population got big they split Servers. But you can only choose once.
After the split if you got on the wrong server you'd have to delete game, reinstall, try again.
All of those who chose the other server you can no longer talk to, join game with, etc.

AH is Client side, ie most of the work is done on your machine, so what you see is what you get.

WoT is Server side, so too many people on the server means you get BIG lag spikes.
Connect would go from 60ms to 999 in the middle of a battle for 2 min. When it straightened out you were dead.

Flying AH you may encounter some lag, but its not happening to everyone on the server at the same time.
And its not a result of the AH server being overloaded.

In short, you guys over here are S P O I L E D!

Enjoy what you have!

And a big <S> to HT and Staff of HTC!

I don't like arena splitting. Why?

I will not give the answer but something more interesting - I hope.

Arena splitting effects are not all negative, and the positive ones are also good for me!

So, if from a certain point o view i don't like arena splitting, from another point of view
arena splitting effects are welcome for me.

 :O

On the question about they way in which arena splitting is done, i think that we don't give to HTC a
correct information about why we need to have a different arena splitting modality,

For me, for example, I have a strange kind of lag  when i play in blu arena.

Respect to other arenas, I must fly in blue arena for more time to avoid it but in this time interval i am shot down more then usual. So i prefer to fly in orange arena.

In past time i went in the other two arena EA and Mid Arena because I can take some base by my self.
We had good ground targets for just one pilot or a couple of them.

Not so today.

About this I wrote some suggestions that was not
so well discussed I think,  but after all in some aspects the time gave some credit to them.    :D

For the other aspects i could be appreciate, doing some research, how they
are limited by technology  - for example: http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,176625.0.html -
and obviously by AH  itself as an HTC product.

While I don't always agree with the HTC staff, their level of activity is commendable.  :salute This game is still evolving. That's a good thing.

HTC has my money for as long as I can afford to pay regardless if I am playing or not, its something worth paying for and I'm interested to see where it goes.

Now down to the serious questions who would win Hitech vs Wild Bill in F14 Tomcats a la Top Gun!  :D

Don't worry about WoTs, barring a heart attack on HiTech's part, I can see this sim coming to set a standard for tank combat in the future...and this in something that started out as a flying sim.

Forgive me for waxing lyrical, but the AHII experience shows what *all* businesses could be like if choices were made by the people on the front line doing the work, not by executive parasites at corporate.
"Crikey, sir. I'm looking forward to today. Up diddly up, down diddly down, whoops, poop, twiddly dee - decent scrap with the fiendish Red Baron - bit of a jolly old crash landing behind enemy lines - capture, torture, escape, and then back home in time for tea and medals."

Hitech really DOESN'T have to do what he does. Honestly guys, would any of you cancel your subs if another update never came? I wouldn't, because nothing out there comes close to AHII.

I cancelled mine because of to much monkeying around with arenas.  It made game play unbearably boring for the times that I flew.  However it has made it better for others.  It's unfortunate because there were allot of cool updates that I have never seen.  So unless it changes to something closer to the way it was, I don't think I'll be coming back.  They can add all the neat stuff in the world to this game but if game play is boring it won’t make a bit of difference.
They call it "common sense", then why is it so uncommon?

Every dime I have is  invested in this company along with a lot of other peoples.

HiTech

As I had suspected.

As most ventures of this type are.

I can't imagine that it is easy to get a loan for something of this nature:

"I want to make a video game"

"It will be as, or more addictive than, crack cocaine"

"No, it is not a hyped-up, regurgitated version of a FPS with a different name."

"No, not jet fighters.  WWII warbirds is what we had in mind"

"No it won't have a lot of eye-candy, or compel users to buy uber computers to run it.  We will be focusing more on the flight model and trying to make it as accurate as possible all while making it playable on the computer that the average human can afford, within reason"

"Yes, our staff members will personally watchdog the forums and respond to reports, wishes and tech support in a timely and courteous fashion even though they are up to their tulips in development work"

"No, we will be running most of the game on the client's computer instead of letting our servers get bogged down and telling the customer "Tough Shoes, you get what you get when the servers are packed" or "Sorry, we know that you have friends you want to play the game with but you picked the wrong server (when you had a one-time choice of servers at 1st log-in, so screw you, that's the way the cookie crumbles"

"No, we won't be smearing our logo feces on every channel, all the time and No, there will not be some massive marketing push, we are going to select the right time and place for our advertisements"

"Yes, you read that part correctly, we will only be charging $14.95/month"

If you would have come to me with that small business plan, I would have pissed my pants laughing.
