As a 12 year Sun N Fun voluteer, let me tell you it really sucked. I work on the flightline for ultralights and light planes. We only lost 4 aircraft in our area. This was due to our air ops people getting 21 planes into a hangar between Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning. Surprisingly, the plane owners who didn't want to go to the hangar were the folks with the smallest lightest planes on the field. The stoms rolled a construction trailer that had been converted to a shower house. A full 360 onto a camper. I didn't see the damage in the general aviation area until I got home Sunday afternoon and could look online. The one big thing I can say is that the volunteers at Sun N Fun really pulled together to help aircraft owners and vendors, and put on a great show Friday-Sunday. Crews worked all night to mover damaged planes from the vendor area and get things cleaned up overnight. I have to say, I am very proud to be a part of this group.

This was one of those freak storms that we don't see in Florida. In the 12 years I've been there, I have never seen weather like this. We were all happy that there were no major injuries.
