Big salute to the Rolling Thunder  :salute.  My dad was 17 when he went off to World War 2. He wasn't drafted, he volunteered. It is all about doing what is right. Freedom is not free nor will ever be. Every single human being has the right to be.  Penguin, you have your right to express your opinion(after all, we veterans took an oath to protect that) but if you think wars are needless( Iraq), ask my wife what she thinks. Yeah, she hate me being gone, but she knows what I am doing is right and she is aware of the sacrifies that are made. Americans are not perfect by any means, but we assumed the role of Democracies champion when we  became a nation. I shed a tear for not a loss of one of ours, but when our allies suffer a loss. I appreciate the sacrifices the Brits, Aussies', the Canadians, etc have made knowing how some of their countryfolk feel.  War is the most irrational act rational individuals can do, I would love to be home with my family, but I took an Oath and I will live( and if  necessary) and die for it.
