 After getting good and drunk his buddies told him that this latest version of elite storm trooper armor was shark proof.    He was listed as awol when he didn't show up for role call the next day.

I read that part but I don't think it's enough to make him famous. I can name at least 100 people from the top of my head who are more famous than him.
