People aren't ignoring you because you're right, but because you won't take your own advice.

Keep ignoring the facts of history with Chernobyl and vast differences in comparison with the situation in Japan and wipe that egg off your face.

Also, quite amusing, you selectively left out the last paragraph of that story you quoted that greatly discredits it, but that would douse your buzz you got from your daily dose today of media oversansationalism with a big bucket of cold water, wouldn't it?

Limited numbers of tourists are allowed into the accident zone for brief visits (as it is now a nationaly protected historical site subject to the threat of looting, as the author pointed out the city was hastily abandoned and most expected to return back home shortly and in the last 25-years and everything from family heirlooms to scrap metal has only gone up in value), despite radiation being well above normal (I won't even bother going over the whole "above normal" thing and the media again), but scientists say generations may pass before it is entirely safe for people to return. (key phrase, but I guess "a vast majority of the originaly quarenteed area is already safe for human rehabitation" doesn't give you that same shock and awe value)

Radiation releases from Fukushima have been fractions of what was released at Chernobyl.
