Yeah I don't know where he's getting the whole one sided thing, I see things on it all the time about Germany & Hitler.

Also the Military History channel is great too, I love the no commercials thing, how they just show clips from other military programs when it does cut away from the current show on.  Like someone else mentioned, the Smithsonian Channel shows some good stuff from time to time about the military too.

Actually History and History International show military themed programming all the time.  Just not ALL the time, if you catch my drift.  The Military channel is owned by the same company as the History channel, and they might have more of what you're looking for if you want military type stuff 24/7.  I watch these channels very frequently as I do things on my computer (mainly as background noise that I only pay close attention to when something interesting is going on).

Now Discovery has a lot of blue collar job or science based reality TV on it.  I find some of that entertaining as well, personally, but you won't find what you've described on Discovery very often.  For more of the science stuff that used to be on Discovery, you've got National Geographic channel, Net Geo Wild, Smithsonian channel, Planet Green, Animal Plant, and of course, the Science Channel.

You can't just get everything you want to watch in two channels any more.  Every channel has branched out, not put all their eggs in one basket so to speak.  My DirecTV bill is also quite a bit higher than I'd like, but hell, I like these channels and get the upgraded package (other than Smithsonian, which I mentioned but don't get).

This is the Captain.  We have a lil' problem with our entry sequence so we may experience some slight turbulence and then... explode.

Yeah he's right, most of the channels have branched out and developed channels that are specific to types of programming, like I love science type's of programming so I watch a lot of the Science Channel.  I also do like some of the reality type programs that they do have on the History Channel & Discovery Channel like Pawn Stars, Gold Rush, Flying Wild Alaska, American Restoration,  and some others.

It all started to go down hill when MTV had to add a second channel to make up for the lack of M in their TV... not that too has gone to crap.

As most have said the channels mentioned are showing 'garbage' shows. The Military Channel here is payperview and as the cable bill is high enough already, that is a no go.

I like all kinds of racing (cars, bikes, boats), so the Speed Channel was (operative word) one channel I liked. Now it to is filled with 'garbage' shows.

AT&T carries a channel called Military History.

That's exactly what it is too, military history

Yea. But they only take 5 or 6 periods in history and then play the same shows over, and over, and over, and over again. 98% of the time. Occasionally throwing in something different

And that would be great cept they show the same damn clips 1,000 times over.

In a 1 hour show I counted once they showed the same damn "mail call" segment 4 times

Like I said in the other thread. At this pint I'd almost rather see the commercials
