It was all about the Lead To Air Ratio.  They could make a wall of it.

Remember the days like Target posted, before the days of the Wirb where it took skill to hit something.

You mean the old says when you could drive an Ostie to a panzer and kill it in couple of shots or drive an M3 inside of a Tiger and kill it with .50 cals?  Yeah, I really miss those skilled filled days.   :rofl

I dont think the LTAR's were ever hated per say.  Just cussed a few times.   ;)  At least LTAR's were never a constant horde squad.

If you bagged an LTAR it was worth a special metion on squad channel and an LTAR warning went out if you encountered them on a base take.

I don't remember ever hearing an Ltard spoken either which is praise in deed  :salute. (Well sort of in reverse  :D)

Having the squad name in your name must surely help though. The reputation is of course essential but the other element must be being instantly recogniseable as of that squad has to be a factor.

I wonder if High Tech could someohow incorporate this without us all having to change our names. When I kill someone or are killed it would be interesting to know immediately which squad especially if famous they were in. I think anything that creates more interest is good for all of us.

Perhaps what should be done is every map have a "War Memorial" area.  5-10 miles somewhere in the center of the maps, where exists a salute to the squads past................   Names in the sand, on a statue, something.

When I was LCA I hated hearing squad channel frantically fill up with chatter that the base we were attacking was filling with LTARs GVs.
They certainly were the best base defence squad out there.
