Low FR when GV'ing
« on: April 19, 2011, 09:11:56 AM »
I started spending quite a bit of time in GVs lately, trying to earn enough perks to get a Panther.

I've noticed my FR drops to the teens when driving and using extreme zoom magnification.  Is that normal?   My typical FR pegs at the monitor refresh rate of 59-60.   System is Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P mobo with E8400 cpu @ 3.0GHz, 4Gb PC28500 RAM, and eVGA GTX 460 vidcard.

Thx help

I run on half the machine you have and don't normally have that problem.  Odd that it only happens in GV's at full zoom.  You might be better off with this in Tech Support.

That's pretty similar to my setup (ATI 5770 card is the biggest difference).  And I don't have any issues with low FR while at zoom.

Is that the only time you notice FR drops?

Well it drops some in real busy conditions, base under attack, etc.   Got a PM though with OC suggestions, and made some changes to the BIOS (pretty much running at default and/or AUTO settings).

Just tried it online and stayed at 59-60fps right through full zoom while moving.   Thanks Katanso!
