Went mushroom hunting today in southwestern Indiana. It was a great day for it; low 70s, blue sky, just beautiful.

I take off down the horse trail half heartedly looking for some of those tasty morrells.     (Image removed from quote.)

Question for you Getback, I found what i think are some morrells in the woods behind my house. The problem is the word "think" and "mushroom" can be a dangerous combination. From everything ive seen, and all the websites I have been to, they say that these are the easiest to ID. I wanted to post a picture here and see what you think. And if they are, what the heck do i do with them. Theres appx 20+ in an area thats 30x30.

Silly post i know, but I love cooking and have always wanted to try these.

Looks like one to me but I don't know that much.

Have a customer that sells bison manure online just for growing mushrooms.

He says it is the best for growing certain kinds of shrooms.  :O

Anyway he makes a good living doing it. He says just grow your own for what it is worth. :bolt:

The biggest danger here wasn't the fact he got lost but rather the fact he fell of going up that hill. A long time could have elapsed 'till someone find him if he had been hurt. Lucky you!

Someone tell this poor fool they sell those things in grocery stores!  No danger, no getting lost, no briars.  Hate to think how he goes about getting a steak to put his mushrooms on.   :rofl
