Version 2.24 Patch 0 Changes
======================

This version completely revises the ground vehicle system and alters mouse function within the game.

NOTE:  The mouse cursor will only appear and function when the clipboard is active or when the radio bar is open.

Your mouse now defaults to mouse look when you are piloting a plane or to gunner control when you are in a gunner position.  You can toggle mouse look with <Shift M> or disable or enable it to default on in the Options/Preferences/View Options menu.  This may not be defaulted on if you have modified your View Options in the past.  You can also set the sensitivity of your mouse look in this menu.

Gunner positions can now be controlled with either the mouse or the joystick.  Both controls are live at the same time so you don't need to switch modes to switch controls.

Vehicles are now controlled with the W, A, S, and D keys.  This allows you to be able to completely control the vehicle while manning a gunner station.  A and D controls left and right turns and W and S controls acceleration and deceleration.  Holding down the S key will also shift into reverse.  Pressing <Shift W> will accelerate your vehicle to full speed without having to hold down the W key.  Pressing <Shift S> will bring your vehicle to a full stop.  Gear shifts take place automatically.

All tanks with turrets and tanksights now have a commander's position in place of the driver's position.  The commander's position can use the mouse or joystick to slew the turret.  Vehicles with commander's positions can only attach a second player as an observer and not a gunner.

Added new tank sights.  The German and Russian tanks are using sights with adjustable reticles.  You can dial in the range of the sight using the C and V keys or the mouse wheel if mapped.  Different tank sights have different magnifications and field of views.  Most tank sights are a single fixed power but some tanks (Tiger, Panther, Firefly) have a second maginification range that can be toggled using the zoom (Z) key.

NOTE:  Your mouse buttons will not be default mapped if you have remapped your joystick in the past.  You can map your mouse buttons in the control mapper.

NOTE:  The vehicle, gunner, and chute keymaps have been reset to the new default configurations.  If you remapped any of these keyfunctions in the past, you will need to remap them again.

All keys from your flight and vehicle keymaps are now active while you are gunning.

The gun modes for the large ship guns and shore battery are now controlled with the <Q>, <Shift Q>, and <CTRL Q> keys.  Sea and Land mode firing adjustments are now made through the W, A, S, and D keys while the mouse and joystick just control your view but not where your guns fire.

Tanks with coaxial machineguns and hull mg's no longer have a gunner position for the hull.  It is instead slaved to the coax gun and will fire whenever the coax is fired within the hull gun's field of fire.

The Panther and Tiger now have reversing tracks that allow them to pivot in place.  Just hold down the A or D key with the engine running while you are stopped.

Updated the title screen art.  Thanks to Cactus for his winning submission!

Updated the shape of the A6M2.  Thanks to Greebo for providing the skin.

Added the A6M3 Model 22.  Thanks again to Greebo for providing the skin.

Updated the shape of the C-47.  Hat trick to Greebo.

Updated the M3 shape.  Added some new loadouts that allow you to configure the M3 as a 75mm Gun Motor Carriage.

Fixed a damage mapping bug in the F2B pilot.

Fixed a damage mapping bug in the Panther's treadwell.

Fixed various damage mapping bugs in the M8.

Fixed a damage mapping bug in the Panzer IV.

Fixed a damage mapping bug on the SdKfz 251's engine.

Changed the rate of fire on the M4A3(76).

Added a rocket and drop tank loadout to the Typhoon.

Added weight and drag to the Typhoon rocket rails.

Added a loadout with smoke shells to the LVT(A)-4.

Reduced dispersion of coaxial machine guns on tanks.

Increased lifespan of vehicle .30 cal machine guns.

Fixed a small invisible sinkhole in a town shape.

Fixed a shape bug on the Lancaster when a flap was destroyed.

Reconfigured B-24, B-17, and B-25 bomb bays so that all bombs now show on the bomb racks.

Added 2000lb bomb loadout to B-17.

Reconfigured various hangar loadout shapes and labels.

Fixed a tailwheel graphics issue on the Bf 110G, B5N, and the SBD.

Fixed a shadow bug on the 190F8 and Il-2.

Fixed an issue with the vehicle hangar that could cause a phantom collision.

Added turret sounds to tanks.

Fixed a Z fighting issue with the taxi way on the large airfield.

Calibrated Spitfire XIV airspeed indicator.

Adjusted collision volumes on Pacific tile set vegetation.  Made some of the smaller bushes non-collidable.

Fixed ammo load discrepencies on the Tiger and Firefly.

The Il-2 has been switched to an attack plane only.  You can no longer use external view in it or log bomber sorties.

Fixed an issue with the hangar ordnance labels turning grey and being hard to read when using a machine with a low end video chip.

Updated web help link to go to the right place.

Fixed an issue that would cause films and screenshots to take a long time to write to your hard drive if you had a large number of films or screenshots in your directory.

The in-game mouse cursor now uses the mouse sensitivity settings in Windows.

Trooops no longer disappear beneath certain terrain features.

Added a test sound button to the advanced sound page.

Added a sound slider for game volume when you are transmitting on voice.  This slider is in the voice preferences menu labeled as "Record Effects Volume".  This can keep your game sounds from bleeding into your voice transmissions and degrading their quality.

Fields no longer reset to original ownership when the war is won.

Added a host option to load a new terrain if the war has not been won within a certain amount of time.

Added an optional new voice compressor that can be selected on the host for trials.

All flight and vehicle key controls are now always available while you are gunning.

Splash screen music can now be replaced by placing a title0.mp3 file in your sounds subfolder.
