« on: April 26, 2011, 07:00:48 PM »
Can we pick the old one or the new set up. Because the new one is terrible.

Horrible, you cant make you mouse not move your turrent.       You cant tell speed you have to hope that your going max because "Shift W" for me hasnt worked half the time.
You cant stop without pressing buttons(instead of just pulling back on your joy stick). Its also new

i think they shoulda done it the way red orchestra did with the tanks. a cotrolable throttle with the W and S keys and when you hold down the movement keys W and S while pressing A and D you can turn in place. the switch to gunner position by pressing the 2 key, also with the commanders position they should add binoculars so you can scan for targets a bit easier.

You couldnt shift without pressing buttons before...

One wonders why pushing buttons is pushing your buttons

I didn't care about button shifting because it was when i wanted to not auto. I said

see, I prefer hitting shift S or just E and stopping on a dime, not holding back a joystick for 4 seconds.

I do agree a speedometer would be handy.

:rofl  sometimes you make it too easy bullethead...you want to take a wide angle field of view and severly limit it with binoculars?

i believe the zoom function is better...  ;)

adds more realism? since i know you have never been in a real moving tank under any conditions, let alone in the commanders seat, the commander does not drive around with binoculars up to his eyes...depending on the country, wwii tank commanders had 7x50, 8x30, 7x30 and i believe 6x30 binoculars...think it would be worth the "realism"?

if you want a limited field of view, you still have zoom view from the commander's position and using the bracket keys adjusts the zoom level.

Well i 1st got the tank up the max speed jumped on pintle moved it outta the way and looked around in zoom view with the Numbers pad by combining the keys. Its FAR more EFFECTIVE than this system. \
If i saw a tank i either jumped in turret and fired on it or i jumped in drives seat pulled back on joystick for 2 seconds stopped the tank jumped in the turret aimed and fired now you must press buttons which is far slower for me than the old system.  Note the title people who want the new driving set up can have it. (i think its just a way to get out of modeling the interiors of the vehicles.
