As in the German tank sights?  If so, there is a system of measuring that is used and once you LEARN it, you wont have an issue using it.

Read this and learn the "how to" portion.  In AH, consider all the tanks close enough the same size for targeting purposes.  That write up is for another game, but the German Panzer sight works the same.

There are other sites out there with more specific detail, but the link above is a good starter.

Dont forget that the Tiger, Panther, and Firefly all have variable zoom.  The first power is 2.5X for the Tiger and Panther and the second is a 5X.  The Firefly has a 3X and a 6X respectivley.  The M4/76mm has a fixed 5X.  All else is the lower 1.6X (M3/75mm), 2.4X (Pzr IV), or 2.5X (M4/75, and both T34's).

Damnit loon, did you have to show that, now everyone that has struggled with ranging can do it without the vast ammounts of practice most have spent  :D.

On the other hand, I didn't know the magnification levels of the firefly, M4's T-34's, or the secondary level of the Tiger and Panther, so thank you.
You started this thread and it was obviously about your want and desire in spite of your use of 'we' and Google.

No problem.  The link below is a good website to start with when wanting a quick bit of info.  Always do your best to cross reference anything you find on the internet with a printed source.  Better yet cross it with an original source.

Thanks for the link. And yes, its best to check. But being a mere 16 years of age, I don't have a lot of cash for printed sources. Whats not going towards Aces high is going in the college and/or car-repair fund.

Do they still teach how to use the public library these days???   :D   Point taken, but just be careful.  For instance, the link I posted shows the T34's with an incorrect number of gears in the transmissions.  Correct transmission, just incorrect number of gears.  Minor detail, but incorrect none the less.  ;)

You'll be hard pressed to find an online source thats not incorrect in SOME small way. Ever since my 8th grade research paper, I've lost all faith in the internet  :noid.

Maybe true, but an eternity online (less than 5 minutes) produced this:

This is how the german sights work.

yes but how many would realize that the information is even there to look for? Most (that I've talked to online) don't realize what those triangles are for, and some aren't even aware that its a historical gunsight.
