Fallout New Vegas Problem
« on: May 16, 2011, 07:02:20 PM »
Has anyone had the problem where you cant continue saved games?  When the title screen comes up, I click continue, and the roulette wheel spins forever, never starting the game.  I figured out that if you load an old saved game, then load the current one, it works sometimes.  This is on xbox 360, and it only started happening after the last update.  Does anyone know of a way to fix this?

I don't know...if the file becomes corrupted or is corrupted you are SOL. I had that happen in red dead and had to restart the game from the start. Was not too bad though because i love that game.

I dont think the file is corrupted.  If I load a previously saved game, and then load my current game, it works.  It just wont load from the title screen.  :headscratch:

EDIT:  Is there a way to tell if the file is corrupted?

When it happened I got a message saying basically this file is corrupted after the third time trying to load it. Does your disc have any scratches in it?

Basically, you're screwed.  The only way you'll be able to play is to start a completely new game and go from there.  Give up any hope now of trying to get those saved games to work again, they're not.

The last update caused an issue that made existing FNV saved games corrupted and unplayable and shortly after the 1.3 patch was released, Bethesda recommended to skip the update if you'v got the Xbox 360 version.

You can find more info here on the Bethesda forums.

Hmmm it seems to be working now. I dont get it, it just works randomly I guess?  :headscratch:

In any case, what exactly went wrong?  I mean you figure they would test these kind of things before they release the patch.  It also looks like it has affected pretty much everyone that downloaded the patch.  Any possibility of a quick fix?
