BFM/ACM Basics and More
« on: May 03, 2011, 11:50:36 AM »
If interested, this link https://www.cnatra.navy.mil/pubs/folder5/T45/P-1230.PDF  is a good reference for pretty much everything about BFM and ACM.  Although written for modern day jet training, the basic principles still apply to our WWII rides.  Notch the speeds and altitudes down, change the aircraft graphics, and it's a good run down on "how to do it" in the WWII arena.

Thanks Puma. Hey the link is dead for me what gives me or the link??

Did you have any luck with it after trying Jaeger's suggestion Raven?  If not, try googling "Air combat maneuvering energy egg".  I just tried it again and was unable to open the link also (opened fine this morning though).  Click on the PDF/Adobe Acrobat - Quick View in the description and see if the PDF will open up for you.   :salute

Gents, here's another great link on the subject that Jappa found. http://sci-ops.net/data/Air-to-Air%20Reference%20Text.pdf. WTG Jappa! :aok

This has more illustrations and somewhat better explanations.   :salute
