Why?

Why not?

I like it but really, in order to foster the kind of action in which this a/c would be most useful AND to foster a useful place for torp-pigs like the Beau, Barracuda, Swordfish, Ventura, etc. we need convoys and convoy raiders (subs and surface bruisers like Eugen, Scharnhorst, Bis/Tirp). Imagine the possibilities: recreating Taranto, pounding Tirp in the fjords, ravaging a Japanese gaggle of Marus, hammering the Repulse, PW/Hood vs. Eugen/Bis... What could be wrong with any of it?

It would be nice to have.  Thing is though, I cant tell if the Firefly was able to carry 2 bombs and 8 rockets, or if it was limited to 1 loading at a time?

If it were limited to rockets OR bombs, it really is just a slower (by 50mph) Typhoon.  If it could carry both the 2/1k bombs and 8 rockets at the same time that would be 1 nasty carrier based attack plane.  Wow.

I vote the carrier based Mossi first!!!   :)

Again, there is a reason the Defiant didn't work.  Too heavy, too slow, no forward firing guns etc.  those guys who took them into combat for that short time until they were wiped out were essentially sent to their deaths.  The Defiant was a disaster.

The why not answer from two of ya, clearly shows you know this, or have not clue as to the history of the Defiant.

+1 to the Fairey.  +1 to letting HTC decide it's priority for inclusion.

I won't disagree with you there.  And there are plenty of birds available that fill that role quite nicely in AH :)

In terms of adding another that has no particular use in the game either MA or special events, I don't much see the point.  And no, don't say Battle of Britain.  It was up and gone from that fight in a hurry.  I'd doubt many folks would sign up to fly a Defiant in a limited life event knowing how fast those lives would be gone, and their chance of any kind of success very limited.

I agree with you more or less, which is why I conditioned the addition on prior development of convoys/shipping. As for the Defiant, though, first thing I'd try to do were I put in one of those deathtraps is try to find some Hurris to hang around with. Mixed like so, you'd have a prayer, espcially if you could stay on a Hurri's six.

"and hey it could be my new perk farmer " implies that it could be a successful fighter, if flown with skill.  I do not believe that to be true.  The Defiant has little to nothing going for it, being slow, underpowered, under gunned and awkward in the extreme.

Fairey Battle!

That was cooooool  :aok

It had a machine gun ... :rock      :huh
Here we are, living on top of a molten ball of rock, spinning around at a 1,000mph, orbiting a nuclear fireball and whizzing through space at half-a-million miles per hour. Most of us believe in super-beings which for some reason need to be praised for setting this up. This, apparently, is normal.
