HuntsVille Space Center
« on: May 20, 2011, 02:10:04 PM »
So since summer break has started me and my parents usually sit down and discuss possible ways to have fun. I threw up the idea of the space center, my dad had the coke factory in Atlanta, and my mom wanted to go to the Gulf. But we decided that the Coke plant and space center were good idea's because of lack of money, but my dad brought up the fact that the area where its at has had a ton of tornado damage. I was wondering if the space center was still open? and also how bad the damage is down there, if anyone knows?

Space Center is still open. Area is good to go and the vast majority of the damage is no close to the Space Center in Huntsville; there is some damage but nothing like Tuscaloosa and other places around the state.

I live about 2 hours south of there and honestly for the money you can't go wrong with a visit to the World of Coca-Cola in Atlanta! But while there you need to see the aquarium in Atlanta as well. Its a family favorite for us to drive over and spend the day in Atlanta wandering around those places.

Thats good, all that stuff there, the planes and rockets would be a major loss. I've been to the aquarium, it was really cool, especially the underwater moving side walk(forgot the name of it!  :headscratch:). But I went with my grandparents for fall break and I had a blast! As for the World of Coca-Cola, i've never been but it looks like a ton of fun!

At the World of Coke....DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DRINK ALL THE FLAVORS AT THE LAST STATION! My oldest son did it last year and barely made it to the bathroom after trying some crap that Coca-Cola makes for Brazilians or some other South American nation. It was awful.

If you go to Atlanta, then you should definitly check out the park with the Granite mountain, they do a laser show, thats pretty kewl. I forgot the name of it, but while your there, its definitly a nice place to check out, and fairly cheap.
Forgot who said this while trying to take a base, but the quote goes like this. "I cant help you with ack, Im not in attack mode" This is with only 2 ack up in the town while troops were there, waiting. The rest of the town was down.

My dad was telling me about that, how you could mix all the drinks together, and thanks i'll make a note of that, peeing my pants in public isn't the greatest idea in the world to me!  :O

Stone mountain? I LOVE IT! I go there every few months to go hiking with my friends, and I see the laser show once or twice a year. Most unforgettable experience! Heck I even took my girl friend on a date to see the laser show last fall.

The huntsville center should have a website and phone number. Give them a call and ask about their status.

DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."

They used to be closed on Mondays from what I remember...or maybe that was just for a holiday time when we were going to take our boys up one day and looked it up before we left.

Anyway here is the website for the US Space and Rocket Center...aka Marshall Space Flight Center.
