Saitek PRO Flight X-65F Combat Control System
« on: May 27, 2011, 09:39:16 AM »
Anyone use it?  What do you like/dislike about it?  Is it better/worse than the G940 and the Warthog?

jarbo in my squad has one I think.  If you mean the one that doesn't move just takes the force from your hand and converts it.  Maybe you can PM him.

I've had one for awhile now.

Button layout is fantastic, throttle is stiff at first but wears in after some time. The stick is hard to get used to and can be quirky.

What are you using now?

Everybody:  What about the Thrustmaster Warthog?  Anybody using that?

After you get the drivers the stick does not center. The fix that saitek put out does not completely center either. Try putting a constant amount of pressure against an object to try and make it go straight. Doesn't work too well in a game like this unless you start out centered and calibrated. I'm thinking warthog or CH now. I will never buy a saitek POS ever again.

Bang for the buck, Saitek is hard to beat. Their quality isn't perfect, but it's miles beyond Logicrap and they are innovative in their designs. CH is the standard for quality.

I dont own one but I did play with both the warthog and this saitek for an hour (they were on 'try it' displays at a local game store).

I hated both.

The non-moving stick is a huge problem for me since the damn force sensing tech is tooo sensitive.

When I was going to fire the main guns (index finger trigger) and moved my finger from the stick out to the trigger itself... it screwed up. moving the finger removed force from the stick itself and the plane would just react to it. Same for 2ndary weapons (thumb button) or pinky finger buttons. Just fubar on both sticks regardless of force detection settings.

I love their ergonomic designs and i did find the thrust stick of this saitek to be orgasmic (I really liked it!)... but the control stick is crap.

I wish I could rip the ergonomic handle of the warthog and plug it into my sidewinder 2 ..and use the x-65F thrust control stick. That'd be grand!

I've spent time tweaking the sensors on the x65. When it was working it was great once I got used to it. It's just that recently the software they put out is garbage as far as keeping the stick going. Doesn't the warthog stick move?
