Where did I see...
« on: May 25, 2011, 02:31:20 PM »
I am in the process of spec'ing out a new rig.

I would like to set up at least a triple monitor display.  I once saw ,on these boards I believe, a rig with four monitors.  Three were larger and set up with views, and one was smaller and looked like it was displaying maps.  I thought that would be a very nice set up, to display your clipboard and radar, etc., without it cluttering one of your views.

Would anyone know if this was possible or am I just wishing...

Yes I know what you're talking about.  It was a sim pit and he had a fourth monitor set up behind his controls under the three monitors.  He had a static image of some gauges up so that it fit in the theme, but nothing that would produce any useful information.  Unfortunately there is no way to get it to do what you want in Aces High.

However, the three monitors can definitely be done.. if you have a good enough video card(s).

I thought Sheperd figured out a way to break the information from gauges out into separate areas in AH??? At least that is what I remember from his simpit thread here on the BBS. Will have to see if I can locate it and post that link here.

Last post on page 3 of this thread he mentions it.

Maybe but he never confirmed it.  Just saying that you figured something out doesn't mean that you actually did.  In any case, it's still not something that the average user here is going to be able to do.

No, it cannot be done (not currently, with the code we have). Per the folks at HTC. The question of splitting up stuff on different monitors has been brought up before.

What you CAN do is have 3 monitors to game with, and a 4th that isn't set up as part of the game. You just have a image up on that monitor in your desktop view and it remains there while the other 3 monitors display the full game and its moving pixels.

It can be helpful, but it's not what you describe.

For multi monitor setup, 3+, you need either TrippleHead2Go (which can be pricey) or an ATI/AMD Radeon card with Eyefinity mini-display ports.
