Flight model from ground up on p40

What exactly does this mean?? Was there something wrong with the old one? Or all the planes going to get a FM from 'the ground up' if so whats the difference?

Idk, it cant open the flaps over 140 mph now. A total brick. Also the performance/alt curves were redrawn i think.

I thought American fighters had a 'manuever' flap setting, but I could be mistaken.   Seems like you should be able to extend at greater than 140mph.   

I do believe pilots referred to the WarHawk as the "Lead Sled", though.

considering the flaps could be deployed over 200mph on the p-40e, the new setting may be closer to reality if the manuals i have are correct.

Yup flap deployment speed is much different. I'm good with it if this is how it's supposed to be.

Both the F and N are affected by the lower flap deployemnt threshhold of aorund 130-140... also the flaps will not deploy (lower) if you are banked, even if you're under the speed.

The C (b) and E are same as before, can deploy around 200-225.

Would be pretty cool to have a flap wheel controller like the idea of manually opening flaps rather than in notches of flaps.

It means that the flight models were completely redone from scratch.

For example, P-40C is now ~10mph faster and ~480lbs lighter than the old B.

I think having full control over how a flap opens could yield a slight advantage if used correctly.

Something just doesn't seem right with the flaps when maneuvering at slower speeds. Sometimes they do not deploy when they are supposed to.

The P40 with full flap modeling is messed up, i can pull full back with stall limiter off and it wont stall what so ever
