Gamebooster may be adding more than it stops. The best way is to do them manually go to BLACK VIPERS page this is the one I use to trim my machine.

+1. Absolutely.

Also look in process explorer and kill anything that you MAY have running normally but don't need when gaming and kill those processes there. Every little bit helps.

Alacrity pc works fine , glary utilities can help also.

Go to black viper as well, cut down the number of processes you run when you computer is fresh up, and not doing anything, it'll help your pc performance out as standard. If you are unsure of what a process does, do some research.

Things that do not need to be running all the time include, any updaters, itunes, any p2p software, some of the hp rubbish they install along with their drivers etc etc.

I would expect what you want is down under Popular Content and Windows Services. (Scroll down to see it)

Having selected the one appropriate to my own PC, it goes on to descibe what services you can disable etc.

EDIT: You have to remember the Black Viper page is all about manual adjustments and is not a "program" to do it for you.

sorry didnt know there was ads.  I have them disabled, I use mozilla firefox with adblock and no script and several other add-ons.  never gone to that website w/o adblock before, but that's what I and lots of other people here use as a guide to disable services.  best thing I like is that it has the basic config in case you want to undo.
