Seperate volume for Vox and Range Pleez!
« on: June 09, 2011, 01:56:20 AM »
I hate when I'm on squad vox & cant hear a blessed word because a bunch of yahoo's are yelling on range.  Please give us a seperate volume control for this purpose!    :pray :salute
The Kanonenvogel had 6 rounds per pod, this is not even close to being open for debate.

God, sometimes I wish I could just squelch Range for a few seconds.

Right now if someone talks on range it goes over squad, perhaps instead of messing with the volume control we could just have a switch for which vox takes priority (like an on/off switch but range/squad).

if you're in a squad...teamspeak or ventrilo is your best bet...about $1 person for 3 months.

with the issues vox has experienced, increasing the number of controls just makes things more complicated and more likely to experience problems.

That won't fix the problem though.  Only one voice is allowed at a time with our system.  You don't hear two people at the same time, do you?

That aside, I think it's a great idea.  At least than you can have range turned up and squad down a little to differentiate the two.

How about just a simple ".squelch range"  ?

There are times when I would *kill* for that one!   :lol

yes i frequently hear cross talk though it's generally garbled...what you're looking for is channel/squad to take precedence over range which volume controls won't do anything more than force people to make repeitious adjustments...face it, when you're not flying with buddies, you still want to hear that "check your six" on range vox when there are friendlies around and manually muting range won't afford you that.

giving channel/squad vox priority over range so that when someone keys up on channel/squad it squelches range and anyone tuned to the same channel will hear only the person who keyed up should be easier to implement than more volume adjustments.

The problem I run into is when there's a lot of people on range chatting away I can't hear anything else.  It's really annoying to be in a fight trying to find the edge of the stall and you suddenly can't hear the stall horn/buzzer or if the flaps are moving in or out because there's so much chatter on F12.
