book repair service needed.
« on: June 11, 2011, 12:58:23 AM »
hey guys, i have a very old copy of General Omar Bradley's "A Soldier's Story"

i loved the book, but before i got my hands on it, it was a part of a library for about 30 years. so it was pretty beaten up already by the time i bought it.

Its a hardback, and sadly its starting to fall apart. a few pages have come lose (the map at the very beginning of the book for example)
and the spine of the cover has become completely seperate of the book.

I'd really like to get this book repaired. i think it would be a complete waste to throw such a good book out.

cab anyone help me out?  :salute

Just find a book restorer in your area or somewhere that you can send it too.  There are people out there who can do really good jobs with old/'structurally unsound' books.
Afk for a year or so.  The name of a gun turret in game.  Falanx, huh?
Apparently I'm in the 20th FG 'Loco Busters', or so the legend goes.

I'd search Yellowbook.com for book repair services in your zip code. Otherwise, these two videos may be helpful if you want to do it yourself.

Take it too Barnes and Noble i dont think they'll repair it but they certainly would know someone who can do it locally. If not they may be able  to ship it out and get it repaired for you.

I see it came from a library originally. Try calling that or another library and see if they'll restore it. I work at a university and they have a kickass library that has a whole staff that restores or repairs books all day long. Might want to try a college or university library if local smallers ones won't do it.
