GV perk price
« on: June 15, 2011, 02:36:08 PM »
I would like for the perk cost of the 76mm sherman and 85 mm t-34 to be increased. Something like 3 perks for the T-34 85 and 5 perks for the M-4 76.

I request the increase because the new sights give the 76mm sherman a greater advantage over the perk free tanks than it previously held. The increase for the T-34 comes from its possession of the only effective HVAP round in the game.

Also, at the price of one perk, someone who ups one of these tanks will make back their perk investment after one or two kills making them effectively perk free.

As it stands now the m-4 76 is the most used tank in the game. Increasing its perk cost would push some people into the perk free tanks without making the 76 mm sherman overly rare.

This wish is primarily motivated by the desire for a greater variety of targets to shoot at. There are 3 perk free tanks available that you just do not see often because at 1 perk everyone chooses the 76mm sherman.

if anything just up the perk of the 76mm M4 to 2 or 3. i see no major problem with the german and russian style dial sights.

actually. using the german sight correctly, you're much more accurate than ever or so i have been told <S>

The dial sights are fine, the advantage that the 76 mm sherman has now is the 5x magnification. The perk free tanks and 85 mm t-34 have 2.5x or less magnification (the 76 mm t-34 only has something like 1.5x)

I don't know what variety you haven't been seeing. I've seen virtually everything this tour except a Skdz. I saw one of those last tour.

Now, if you want to see more tanks with weaker guns just say so.

Chart time:

The M4(76) was on it's way to 70% "usage" when it was perked. Even that very low price did surprisingly well at keeping the numbers significantly lower. And so far, the changed gunsights seem not to have a big impact on the M4's usage (or are being somewhat balanced  by the reduction in rate of fire)

Usage is one thing, how is the k/d ratio as compared to other tanks?  Me thinks over time the Panther and M4/76 are going to get more expensive/better ENY and the Panzer IV and T34/76 are going to get a lower ENY.  The M4/76mm can gun vs the Tiger, Panther, and Firefly just fine with the 5x sights.

EDIT: Interesting the major decline in Firefly usage!  No sense in uppin' that when the M4/76mm will do just the same for 1/16th the cost.  ;)

only reason for decline in firefly usage was the m4 rapid fire.  you could put 2 or 3 rounds to the firefly's single round or way too many to the t34's.

The M476 deserves a 3-4 perk it has a fast gun, default color is green, it has zoom as good as the 30 perk tanks, it can survive rounds very well you have to hit it perfect to kill it.

In fact the m476 is tougher than the firefly from my experience for some reason.

T34-85 should stay 1 perk though the lack of zoom is a real disadvantage.

The m4-76 is as good as the firefly IMO with how much dmg it can absorb while flinging rounds.
