Why not just put a fiberglass body on an aluminum frame? It would be stronger, lighter and more watertight.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.

You could just carve it from the plywood and do the same thing.

all i can tell you is that i trust wood much more than fiberglass when it comes to things like this. Fiber glass decays fast in the heat where i life. My friend had a fiberglass canoe and it got SO brittle we were able to hit right through it.

200cc is actually pretty good for that kind of engine I would think?

eh, when traveling slow and with torq yes, but if your looking for bit of more speed then that thing is underpowered for that entire thing. I paintball a lot and looked into making a mini tank for scenarios and people recommended 13 horsepower engines when I'm only allowed to go 5 mph. That thing might even be underpowered as is I'm not sure.

yup, not everybody has a welder for metal and not everybody has a compressor for fiberglass.

you could easily make it out of aluminum if you do it right and go some what by the plans and still have it float. however it wont take damage well compared to wood in this case. you would need it to be reasonably thin. Not good.
