Feels good
« on: July 02, 2011, 04:37:53 AM »
When you get to help someone try AH for their first time. The feeling never gets old! :D
Like, ya know, when that thing that makes you move, it has pistons and things, When your thingamajigy is providing power, you do not hear other peoples thingamajig when they are providing power.

Another 11 minutes of my life gone from staring at spikes avatar.

Is it just me or after staring for a couple minutes does the tempo seem to accelerate just a bit?

Incentive.

If you need "incentive" to train someone, you should not be training anyone.    I/most do it to help the trainees to become more proficient and improve the quality of game play.

Seems to me the incentive would be from improved game play with folks knowing what they are doing.

By that rationale teachers should be unpaid for their time.

Apples and Oranges.

Not really on a fundamental level. One person knows a certain skill shows other person said skill.

There are an awful lot of moms and dads out there who volunteer their time for coaching, helping in classes etc.  They don't get paid.  I think the point the OP is making is that there is some gratification in helping someone else.

I would agree with this.  People don't always need a 'reward' to do something to help someone else, beyond feeling good about themselves for helping out.

If and when there is a new person in AH, dont be an idiot and give them a bad taste in their mouth.  Help them.  Give them the basics and make sure they know the learning curve is LONG.

Stop with the Alt-F4 jokes.
