Playing soccer was fun. I usually was a sweeper until I got older and became a midfielder. I had free reign for the most part and physically dominated both in stamina and strength. I played indoor and outdoor. I got tired of soccer. It overlapped with the exciting sports to play. I decided to nix it in favor of football, basketball, baseball, track, and swimming where I could fit that in.
Soccer guys were annoying. There was a real inferiority complex among them on and off the field. On average, I found them to be more cerebral, but that also made them over analytical and delusional. You'd think they'd accept their place, but they always were looking up several inches at people and telling them how tough they were. I think there wouldn't be such a backlash if they weren't the SCRAPPY DOs of sports.
After school, I was a gym rat looking for a fun time and found rugby. Soccer players have the delusion that they are rugby players. I can respect rugby players.
Girls like soccer. A lot of them play and can relate to guys that play. That common ground causes some delusion as well as they equate soccer skills with machismo... if left alone with only soccer players for an extended period. Much like dancing and song. Soccer guys are like the goth kid. The grunge kid. They are that whining guy that can relate to those estrogen filled feelings.
Many of us have dated girls with clingy ex's who were soccer players. The only group that does drama better than women and the "funny, not harhar" types, are soccer players.
Anyways, soccer is the world's most popular sport. Soccer is great.
