correct forum for initial setup

I just downloaded the software and have completed most configuration.  Which form is the correct one to ask questions about setup?

I have CH Pro SIM Yoke / Rudder controls.  I mapped the keys to the controls.  I got the flaps to work.  I got the guns to fire.  I got the throttle to work.  I was in the practice arena and took off.  I shot at a couple planes but I guess I missed (not quite sure how).  Anyway, I started just flying P-51D around to get a feel of the controls.  Well, I crashed. No big deal right now.  I decided to see what I had mapped for the landing gear.  Got that set, went back to another practice session, the auto takeoff was on, I had no throttle, flaps, nothing.  I tried resetting the mapping but I can't get anything to work now.  Should I invest in another brand of controllors or is there some bug or parameter I need to set?  I do not understand why it just quit working.  I'm on the 2 week trail right now and time is short for me to make a decision about joining.

That's odd, notsogood.

I have CH gear; Fighterstick, Pro Throttle and Pro Pedals (all USB).  I have them plugged into a powered USB hub and the only time I have issues with them is if for some odd reason the game dumps on me hard and Windows decides to reset the USB ports...which rarely happens.

As long as your CH Control Manager sees your equipment, and you can calibrate with that, the game should see them fine too.  Map your yoke and rudder to the analog equivalents in the game, then calibrate in the game. You should be all set and should rarely need to re-calibrate. If you find yourself over-controlling, you can play with the damping and scaling for each axis in the game by activating the "advanced" checkbox in the controller setup.

While in the Training Arena, keep an eye on the roster for anyone showing as in the AH Trainers Corps; they are volunteer Trainers and can help with most everything. There are also many non-Trainers that hang out there and are also a wealth of info.

Note to and from Skuzzy about a problem I had:

After exiting the game I lose my stick configurations (Veiws, movement)

The currant fix is to open my Ch products manager and rescan.....then everything works just fine.

There seems to be a disconnect between the game and my stick once I exit.

This happens when the USB bus resets, as it is prone to do with a CH stick. If you are not using an externally powered USB hub, then I would suggest getting one.

It can also be the game files have been marked as read-only, in which case the game is not able to save the configuration files. <---FIXED
