Wanted to get this down while it was still fresh in my old head. Strangest thing I have seen since playing all these years.
Logged in before FSO and got ready. I hit key to bring up text and it came up, clicked in the box but couldn't type anything. The enter key would not work and could not close it. I hit the escape key to bring up map and it booted me to desktop, just like alt tab does. I come back in and my map is in the bottom right hand corner. I could move the map around and minimize it. Other times I hit the escape key for map and get dumped, come back and no map at all. The no map at all was the majority of the time when this would happen. I know this because all through the FSO I kept hitting the key out of habit, and couldn't stop!
I could do everything else,talk,views,shoot ect. By some miracle I made it through and landed, but could not exit my plane. I couldn't type ef to end flight or get the map up to end flight that way. After about 5 min. on runway the screen did a little stutter, and everything was back to normal. I was able to exit and use the escape key to bring up map ect.
When this started before FSO I relogged 2 or 3 times but never did a cold reboot.
I was talking with Morfiend while this was going on for some help. If I forgot anything maybe he can add to it. I wish I would have had film but I don't. But very strange stuff and made for a tough evening. Kind of too realistic as I was totally lost most of the time, and had to try and follow squad members. Got lost more than once, and all the 38s and 47s at the end didn't help!
Forgot to mention all these actions were done by keyboard, none are mapped to my stick. Hope this helps.
