Anyone ever hear of it? I put in my MSI CD today to check for updates for my hardware and the sorts, and it wouldnt load. no worries i thought, ill check my cables and make sure everything is hooked up. upon reboot i can only boot into Winki which is put on by MSI, and i can only boot to Winki from the CD. almost as if Windows 7 is non-existent on my machine right now...  :bhead ive had no issues as of yet, but if anyone may have an idea as to how to toss Winki out the door and get back to my Windows 7 itd be appreciatewd.  :furious

upon trying to pull up my task manager... i realize i cant  :huh  :headscratch: shall be interesting if i cant get rid of this soon...

nothing is on my machine that i had on windows 7. no AH, no iTunes, nothing...

Check this Engadget article. Check your MBs website. I'll bet it can be disabled in the BIOS.

read the FAQ, did as they said to enable it in BIOS, but in BIOS it mentioned nothing of Winki. I havent touched BIOS ever until now to try and disable Winki. I dont have the fancy doo-dad that they say to install if you want to get winki enabled.


thinking its the last time i go with MSI if it keeps goin like this...

It's basicly a USB drive plugged into a socket on the mother board, and it's not supposed to be active unless you press F5. Turn off the machine and unplug it. At least until you figure out how to toggle (activate/deactivate) it.

If it's BIOS related you can unplug the machine then take the battery out of the motherboard for a few minutes.  Put the battery back in, plug it in and try to boot.  When you take the battery out the CMOS resets the BIOS to it's default configuration.  Make sure to ground yourself first to discharge static electricity.

it had nothing to do with my MOBO... HDD somehow gfot disconnected and i havent touched my machine since i built it and hooked it up.  :huh :headscratch:
