Spawn points further from bases would really thin out the spawn campers.

The typical spawn camper mentality can't be bothered to invest any more time than rumbling out 3k to the enemy spawn even as his base is overrun by enemy actually smart enough to employ a mostly unused (in AH) tactic of flanking.

Unfortunatley it also thins out the number of players spawning in too. The longer the way to the enemy base, the less frequent it will be used by GV at all. It's very easy to totally kill off GV activity that way.

this entire thread is based off the v85 vbase and the spawn camp that is always going on there. the average life expectancy of anyone spawning to v85 is about 4 seconds.

this data is based on my personally switching to the side trying to break out of the vulch and being blasted in as little as 2 seconds and sometimes as long as 6 seconds about 30 times.

after a long winded rant berating the lazy campers who would make no attempts to balance the sides and stop camping the spawn in complete safety I switched back to the camper side and upped a tiger.


after 50+  retardedly easy kills sitting next to a bridge some smart panzer driver drove up the hill behind me out of view and flanked me at point blank range before i could turn to fire at him giving me a well deserved ride back to the tower for partaking in such spawn camp dweebery.

and king tiger could be fun to use for the crazies who will take it into spawn camps to bust out of the camp but most likely it will get its tracks blown off, flanked and shot in the side or tail and egged or get 37mm through the roof or all of the above in short succession.

but most likely no ones gonna risk taking it to a fight where they can't sit on pavement and tower out when bombs start whistling down on them.

Given the layout of V85, V135, and other notorious spawns, it would be quite possible for a T-34 to put a shell into the side of the Konigstiger's turret on spawn-in, imediatly disarming him, and ensuring his death. V135 would be particularly hazardous to KT's depending on which side it spawns it at. I've killed a tiger with an M4(75) in one shot there by climbing the hill behind the spawn and putting a shell on the top of his engine decking.

All spawns should have 3-4 manned 88s for defense that are about 1-2K from the actual spawn, that way campers would have to camp at looooooooong range or set up with their backs to the 88s. The 88s could be destroyed but would respawn at regular intervals like base ack etc.


Camping is like vulching which is like flying a brewster which is very silly IMHO

I'd like to see a 2x perk multiplier for GVs spawning into an enemy field.

as it is the game favours GV defence waaaay too much - hence the spawncamping. too much reward for just sitting on your arse.

I actually love the v85 spawns. this is usually about the only time I get into a GV since the new targeting system was introduced. It provides immediate action upon spawning in and I can usually generate a few kills even if it is only 1/4 of the times I spawn in that I get a kill.

It is usually a pretty good time right up until the place starts to fill with smoke and 20 people show up with bombs.

No matter what though if you are aggravated by the campers just don't show back up, they won't get any kills that way.

There is one other option though. Tell them you will be back in a couple of minutes you have to get more beer and change sides, spawn in beside them and start chatting with them until they realize who you are. I did that one night  after letting them sit there for 10 minutes and it was funny as hell.
