The exception to the 12 hour rule should be that you have unlimited switches to the low numbered side.

This.  Please.

+1 but only if there is a 50% population difference.

This.  Please.

ever play at night when lots of people switch to bishops to roll fields unopposed?  that happens every night around 12 pst.  how many of them you think were playing rook/knight until they saw the rolling of bases, then switched.  between 10 and 12 pst, people switch to knight/rooks to roll bases, that will give them a free hand to switch to bishops later on.  doesnt happen every night, but it usually does.  I play almost every night from around 10:30 pst up until 2 or 3 am and I see people fighting next to me, then switching to bishops.  nothing wrong with it, but why give them a free switch.  let them plan it.  horde with rooks/knights, or horde with bishops  :D.

like I said in another threads some people do switch to help the low side, but sometimes the low side is the one having 30 guys on one base, who cares.  but why make it easy for those who want to join the 30 and make it 40.

at that point I should be able to switch to the high number side and fight the hoard on the low number side, which is what I have pretty much done for the last 6 years and now I cant :bhead
