The idea is about as romantic as suicide bombers.  It was a desperate measure, for a nation that was losing the war.  Many brave young men died doing it before they even got the chance to live.  And for what?  Nothing.

Patton had it right... "No poor bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making other bastards die for their country."

To reproduce these types of attacks in the game is not only pointless and unnecessary... it would dishonor the memories of those that died performing them... and those that died due to them.

I find it hard to believe this request keeps coming up.

The idea is absurd.  Japanese players have posted in the past saying they oppose the idea.

That said, the word is "kamikaze", a combination of "kami" meaning spirit or divine and "kaze" meaning wind.

i agree, it's a sad and horrific idea.

however, an argument can be made for special events. yes, i do think it is immoral, but then again we have to acknowledge the existence of the kamikaze units, all those poor young souls that were robbed from life by being told dying for their emperor was a worthy cause. Just like how we must acknowledge the existence of the Third Reich.

I doubt the United States are going to start hurling F-16's loaded with exlosives at carriers any time soon  :lol.

I think the reason the japanese did it was because they had a strong military tradition, and were taught that it was better to die rather than surrender.

The Germans started using the kamikazie tactic for the simple reason that it worked. However, they wanted their pilots to bail out once they rammed a B-17.

i think it would be honouring their deaths... these pilots... died for country and family...i admire their courage..... put all the politics aside... and focus and the pilot's point of view...to ask a man to dive into certain death is by no means an easy task... their mental courage....to defy all odds...i think if we are to remember the kamikaze pilots... its not that they fought for japan or the emperor.. but the fact..how these pilots mentally conditioned themselves for death... the courage it took them... i'm sure most would have wet their pants....both sides lost tons of good lives... we remember them for their merits and bravery... what ever side they come from...

That isn't what you would get here.  You would get yahoos smashing plane after plane after plane into a ship just because they can.  There would be no "honor", because there is no death.  No glory... just "Yay... I skillessly smashed me cartoonz plane n2 a cartoonz ship cuz I canz and I R the kewelest! And watch whilz I duz it agin!"

Your intent may be pure... but the main arenas would quickly pervert your wish into something that everyone would hate.

Im not going to get into my underlying opinion of suicide attacks.  This isnt the place for it.

If you get close enough to a ship to crash your plane into it, why not just use a bomb instead?  You can drop the bomb from altitude, do damage, and stand a chance at getting away.  Seems silly in that respect.  On another level, it'd be used to game the game.

"Hey, let's get 20 guys to kamikaze the hangars and town, then rush the goon in!" or "Hey guys, let's go out and kamikaze all the tanks at this camped spawn!"

Nope.

The kamikaze in real life was much more effective and easier than conventional dive bombing, which is why it was implemented

Well, would it be such a crime to make plane crashes equivalent to a 100lb bomb?????

I mean really, they blow up right?

The people that will do it arent the ones that care about perks anyway...  there is nothing short of account deletion that could represent the outcome of a "successful" kamikaze strike.

For most, the largest motivation in the game is pissing off the red guys, loosing them perks, and killing the fun for them.
