P-47s in last frame in 11/9 sector
« on: July 26, 2011, 11:52:06 AM »
We were a group of JU-88's that was being screened to the south by our escorts that was headed due west from A133 before making a turn south to attack the Radar station. We got a call of high bombers and fighter escorts coming into our flight path and we went full power and leveled out. We spotted a mass of dots to the south of our position and about 5-8k higher than us but they were moving fast. So we broke to the southwest to get some distance away. Anyway we got the old hairy eyeball from a single P-47 that didn't even press the attack on us. Just wondering who that was and why you got called off of the easy kills. It would have been a slaughter house special for you guys on our 8 formations.

Could have been my group headed to 131.
Your location and heading was reported to the defenders of the radar factory (Satans Playmates, 49th).  The Lone p47 was to ESCORT his strike package.  He simply followed his orders.
I could not ask for anything more than that.  :salute

Ahhh..... That was my group my good man. We saw your group and I issued orders for a single 47 to scout ya, and put it on country.

The reason I did this, is simple really. It wasn't our mission to intercept you guys. We we're on a mission to hit our own target.

If we hit you, the we risk ruining our defensive CAPs fun as well as you guys defensive CAP that was waiting for us.

I told my guys that it looked like fun, but unfortunately it was someone roses fun.

Yeah when we got to the radar factory everything was down in the weeds or non-existent zoned made it back to 131 unharrassed and without losses.
