Isn't that the truth! It took 9 months after I passed the last exam. Just one closed door after the other. If it weren't for a former boss I would have never gotten it. Thank goodness I didn't burn all my bridges.
There is a lesson in that last statement for a
LOT of folks who may be looking for work now or in the future. The momentary pleasure of burning your bridges may be nice but your employment history will not go away just because you severed ties there. Having been a pre employment investigator in my old department let me say that I was very very interested in past work history and did not let a simple statement of dates of employment be the end of the conversation. More than a few folks never made it past me because of the stuff I found out about their background.
Another thing to consider. Make sure your "professional" e-mail handle is not related in any way to your posting on BBS or the passing of jokes to friends. Everything you put online does not go away and can be traced. Employers are digging into things like blogs, facebook etc. to find out if a potential employee might be a liability in joining the company.
