nope, it had/has 1x .50 over the cabin, 1x .30 on the LHS. its a PITA to defend against strafers - turning in circles :bhead

One thing for sure is that adding the .30 cal to the starboard side on the updated LVT-2 model should not constitute a purse fight "just because".

I've seen photos of the LVT-2 and the 30 cal MG mounting three ways (0, 1, or 2 .30 cals), but the thing that remains constant is the the .50 cal over the cabin.

since the 10 troops aboard are under some bizarre ROE where they arent allowed to return small arms fire on aircraft strafing them, the RHS .30 makes sense :aok

I'm not sure the speeds on the current model are wrong.  Actually, grandma and her walker might be faster.   :D

Doesn't the 190A5 need remodeling? I have a crappy screen and I sometimes have a hard time telling the new graphics model from the old.

Simple check. Does it have moving throttle and rudder pedals in the cockpit? If so, it's up to date.

On that note, who knows if there are 2 or 3 levels of updating?  Surely, the graphics on the F6F and Typhoon (and a whole host of others) are better than the aircraft HTC put out in 2007, and the aircraft that came out in 2007 is far better than the 1st generation (P40B) game start up.  Perhaps a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd generation of graphics quality?  Just curious.

Technically, there are two levels.  That said, there is a large difference between the Ki-84/B-24 and the Mosquito/A6M5.

Spitfires were redone once in AH1, so technically we're on our third Spitfire 3D model.

IDK, it might be my graphics settings, but the 190 just doesn't seem as...... there, physicly, as newest additions like the new A6M's.
You started this thread and it was obviously about your want and desire in spite of your use of 'we' and Google.

That is because they aren't.  They, like the Bf109s, Spitfires, P-51s, P-47s, P-38s, B-24 and Ki-84 are AH2 standard models.  That are, in general, markedly better than AH1 models, but the newest models are noticeably superior.

There were 3 real generations of graphics updates. AH1 level (P-40Bs etc), the second level (call it AH2 but it precedes this) where we had previous 109Gs, P-51s, etc. (These were updated to a higher standard but still not what we have now), then the 3rd new generation with updated cockpits, improved 3D shapes, etc. This is what we see now.

The Fw190s are part of this third generation. They look much better than their previous incarnation, by FAR!

I have some issues with the shape given to them (it isn't correct in the fuselage cross section) but the quality of the shape isn't bad.

The one thing to note, however, is that with graphical improvements introduced around the time the B-25 came out, we are also seeing newer looking "damage" (shredded flaps, ailerons, elevators, rudders, instead of "missing" them entirely) and higher level of detail in what can be damaged (shooting gear doors off a B-25, but not the gear itself).

The 3rd generation graphics are evolving with every new plane, getting a little better each time, but make no mistake, everything after the Ki-84/B-24/T-34 is what I consider "3rd Gen" graphics.
