20mm

The plane is an Alison-engined P-51-A that was intended for the RAF.

Guns aren't installed yet... Government provided gear is usually installed last. Oh, and it's a Mustang Mk. IA.

One of the things HTC is working on with the new P40s is this version.  It's meant to help all these guys who only drive tanks, transition to flying planes.  It will be less of a shock this way if they can hear the clanking of the tracks.

For the same reason you use tracks on any other vehicle. To spread the weight of the vehicle over more surface area to reduce ground pressure.

I know that much, but how does takeoff work?

Step 1. Lifts arms up very fast
Step 2. Lower them even faster
Repeat Steps 1 and 2 while running very fast, when at the end of the runway, jump as hard as you can!

Remember! Keep repeating Steps 1 and 2!
