I agree that ACK lethality and hardness should be set to max in the DA. There is no reason for otherwise. There is no reason why someone would need to be strafing ack in the DA. Sure youll have ack runners, but at least you have a choice to follow them in or not. People just taking off have no choice.

A lake where Tempests are free and F3's roam free. Most will Squeak and Squeak and Pick you till 3 (cartoons come on then).

Ever try dueling a squadie and have "Squeak squeak squeak" beg to watch then literally interrupt by upping then shooting you down because he's tired of watching?

Griefing duels is another issue, the OP was talking about the lake.

Doesn't happen that much, though it's true every once it a while some jerk or maybe new guy will do it.
You are in a maze of twisty little passages, all alike.

I would like to clarify that I am not so much upset by the arrogance or vulching in
the DA, but more so to the cesspool that it has become. It should be a fun place
to have a good duel or to learn a new plane or test out new hardware, not 'HAH
I vulched you both, I'm so fluff'n uber leet!' or 'look, I just got 7 kills in a tempest and
didn't have to earn a single one of them, I'm so great!'.

Perhaps a couple ground rules (that are ENFORCED) would help, such as 'stay
respectable' and 'don't interrupt duels'. As it is, there is nothing saying that people
can't interrupt a duel, or shouldn't be a total d'bag.

Vultchers are usually easy to spot in the Lake, They fly at least 10k above everyone else, usually circle the field before diving. and ether run away after their failed attempt, or climb back up for another vultch attempt.

Vultchers are the funniest people to play with in the DA.simply up, fly straight to encourage them to dive, once they do juke them at the last second, then go back to flying straight. sooner or later ether you'l get a shot on them, or the Ack will. They basically become free kills  :aok

Why, exactly, do you care about free kills in the DA?  :huh

It's the same mentality the vulcher has -- the false feeling of power and superiority over an opponent.

Nah its the same guy, hes been here for years, pretty easy to spot and a bit of a psycho to boot.

EskimoJoe this guy wants to see you flip out mate, thats what he gets off on, probably the same guy as the Cobra shade that used to do this a while back. Best advice go up a Tempest and hunt him down, then laugh at him when he dies.  :D

The simple answer is because System Victory messages are directly transferable for 'wtg' messages from other players, which is in turn transferable to bolstering ones ego.

Unfortunately EskimoJoe there really is no way to enforce ethics. Furthermore players have different goals and values. As a counterpoint to your opinion there is a certain honesty to the Furball lake in the 'law of the jungle' fashion and this has its own merit.

Before another 'remove the Furball lake' campaign gains momentum, again I must state there is a small core of AH pilots who enjoy flying there and not everyone is like the griefer that you and Pervert seem to be citing. It sounds to me like you've been made the temporary squeaky toy of a genuine Furbal lake pest, who changes his callsign routinely and uses a second account to dot wingman you and then systematically ruin your flying session by attacking you in a Tempest.

It is unfair to those regular players to make a significant change without consulting them. I suggest in general if you don't go there then don't comment and if you do then expend a little energy trying to understand the nature of the place and see if you can exploit that for your own enjoyment or edification. There are good players in there, don't let a single turd ruin the pool for you.

Additionally there used to be an Arena Message prohibiting the disruption of private duels which had since been removed. There was a thread campaigning for its reinstatement but to no avail.

Edit: What exactly is the correct spelling of 'Furball'?

Pervert,

That was a funny film to watch. I don't get some of his throttle use, spraying
every 1st pass, or the stall flip- flopping after 38 had passed that only set up easier shots. :headscratch:
Maybe he was drunk?
