Below is a link to my all-time hero, Commander David McCampell, MOH. On Sept 1, 1943 he formed VF-15, where his command later grew into CAG-15. It was as commander of CAG-15 that he worked through the Central Pacific on his way to 34 confirmed kills and the Medal Of Honor. He achieved 'Ace in a day' twice, to include 9 kills in one mission. They flew off of the USS Essex.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_McCampbellWho is in for a CAG-15 raid on Thursday Sept 1, at 9 PM Eastern/8 PM Central in his honor? I am proposing we mass 36 plus Hellcats and go work something over. Of course we need a mix of Japanese planes to defend something. Likely a port with an airfield. I fly rook so the McCampell raid will need to fly from the Rook side. I know we are going to have some Corsair drivers wanting to horn in on this action but for his sake, just up in a Hellcat. How about a couple Japanese sqauds flying opposition? Aces of the Rising Sun? Let me clarify that this is not an SEC so will need to be flown in the Main Arena.
Any takers? Any Navy squads want in such as VF-17, or VF-222?
