how does one confirm hi-res pack is installed?

I don't think there is any way to confirm it's installed.
If you downloaded and installed the latest hi-res pack (AHHIRES2250.EXE - 7/27/2011) and your textures are set to 1024 or 2048 in Video Settings on the clipboard in the opening window, you should be set.

The way I understand it, after the game is updated to the current major rev (2.25 patch 0) you run the installer for the hires pack to match (as Rolex posted). Any game patches (2.25 patch 1, etc.) should not require you to reinstall the hires pack - unless the release notes specificially say you need to.

installed it; works fine.  sure thought i had it installed prior.  but in any case, all is well.

get into p51 if you read small red writing under gunsight you have Hi res installed.

It blurred without hi res pack :old:

The way i judge it:
Get into a b24, look down at the console between the seats. if you can read the writing on the giant knob down there, then you have the hi-res pack. if you cant read it, then you dont.  :aok

if you can see the nails in those maple wood slats.......you have

the high res installed correctly.
