There we go. Imadot has the problem solved and I can't thank him enough. He's got a purpose built arena for the half dozen or so here that want it. Rock on I say! Can we please drop the whole night thing now?

You did not have flights and squads flying at night. You had 1 single night fighter hunting in his own isolated geographic zone/area, searching for bomber streams most times never being seen and most times never being in danger.
wrong sir. the luftwaffe sent up squadron strength night fighter converted bomber interceptors (ju-88, bf-110, do-217) quite often. and the survival rate wasn't as good as one would expect for various reasons. depending on the a.o. the u.s. sent flights of 4 to 6 night fighters on patrol from late 44 to end of war.
