Thanks for the good advise Drano.  I should receive my Arctic Silver 5 in the mail tomorrow.  Yes, the computer is in a very warm room.
Hopefully I can get these temps down a little bit.

I think SilverZ06 has the record so far.

I just googled it, it looks like your cpu can do about 73 max so 52 is good.  it looks like your video card runs average of 85, anything over 100 is not so good.

my video card runs at about high 60's at full throttle, but I have a new one.  newer video cards run cooler.

best thing you can do to lower temp on any system is keep it clean.  every few months or so, open it and vacum/air can everything.  including fans.  you should be amazed how dirty it gets.  use alcohol to clean dirty build up and if you know somebody with a baby, borrow a disposable diaper and use the inside to clean.  just make sure you borrow a clean diaper, the dirty ones, will make things worst  :D.

Here's some overhead rules in cool computing, based on what I have seen, made and read, if it helps anyone.

Desktops:
  • the PSU fan alone is not enough to cool a gaming rig
  • when adding case fans, the bigger the better: Slow motion for silence, large fins for much airflow
  • concentrate in blowing hot air out of top of the case. Negative air pressure takes care of getting cool air in
  • additive fans and ducts can be used for directing cool air into hot spots

Laptops:
  • always use your laptop on a solid surface, not on a pillow/rug/sofa etc.
  • increase ventilation by lifting the laptop from the surface. The cheapest way is to heighten the feet with adhesive rubber pads used to protect walls behind door knobs. There's also a myriad of special cooling pads, with and without fans, which aren't too expensive

All:
  • keep all air intakes, filters, fans, cooler fins etc. clean
  • if possible, don't use your computer in the kitchen to avoid getting greasy fumes into it.
  • avoid smoking at your computer for the same reason. Fins, blades and gaps covered with tar/grease glued dust are almost impossible to clean

I've got an older system by today's standards that still runs the game well by my standards.
