Bf 109F-4 of Jg 26
« on: March 31, 2017, 12:40:16 AM »
Bf 109F-2 of 9./Jg 26 flown by Werner Bohnenkamp in April 1941. "Yellow 6" was an initial production F-2 model and still retained the RLM 71/02/65 scheme common in 1940. Note that the transport radio codes are still present under the fuselage camouflage mottle. Also rare to see in 1941 is a Jg 26 machine with full unit markings - as the practice of painting unit emblems was discontinued in June.

Its beautiful.  The transport codes under the mottling are such a nice, subtle touch.
