Any Skydivers?
« on: August 17, 2011, 12:45:34 PM »
I'm off to lake elsinore in a week. Anybody jumped there before? How is it in relation to Perris?

Only few miles between them. Why would you expect anything different?

Facilities and weather? Dunno, that's why I'm asking :P

Actually looking at google maps they are closer than I thought. Still, would be interested to know what the DZ's facilities are like, particularly the bar :)

Didn't know you were a skydiver bighorn. I'm at lake elsinore for 2 weeks. Come and do a jump or two?

Not a skydiver. My son is. I jumped once in tandem. If I'm in vicinity next two weeks I'll let you know.
If not, go to 'The Wreck' and grab waitress's a** for me. I wasn't allowed to do that myself  :D

I've never done any skydiving before. My biggest fear is falling. I'd like to try skydiving someday though. Looks both fun and pretty dangerous. :lol

Alright, see if you can hit me up :) I will definitely check the wreck out. The stampede in Temecula was a big hit with us last year! Hmmmmm, cowgirls!

Plazus, you've gotta give it a go, it is amazing. The experience is almost spiritual. I've done a lot of wacky stuff in terms of adventure sports and I can safely say that skydiving is the best, better than surfing, and sometimes genuinely better than sex!

I recorded one jump over Bamberg Germany back in 1986.

Fun sport but very expensive so I never got the chance to do it again.

It's expensive doing tandems and getting tuition. A full rig and all the kit could set you back over $5000, but once you have all that and you're qualified, it costs you $10 a jump, or it's free if you have a friend with a plane! For getting into the sport, its a bit pricey but so worth it. And not everyone has $5000 for a rig so they just rent it for $10 or so per jump. Worth every penny!

Oh, BTW bighorn, is there a pool at elsinore? That was one of my favourite things about perris.

Damn, oh well. Just gets so hot there lol. So the wreck is a good place to check out. Any others? We're all young guys 21-23ish, would be nice to find a bar popular with some good looking girls ;)
