Isn't he a little old to be taking bases?   :bolt:

Jokes aside, how would they model it? Would you want a 3D image of someone pulling goggles down off the helmet? In addition, didn't some of the German sights have an optional tint lens that would filter out some of the sunlight?

Del yup.  Some LW sites had that option.

What I think should be improved on is when you bring up the clipboard and it blocks the sun, it should block the sun and not go right through it.  Like real life.  That way some of us have that choice when desired.

Pging up/down is not practical.  :salute

I use the arrow keys or slightly adjust my course  :D

Sunglasses would be awesome, but I think they are 100% impractical for this game.

In the interest of service to the community I tried playing AH last night with sunglasses on to combat the brightness of the sun, results aren't encouraging but I'm undeterred.

I believe that if you ask any WW2 fighter pilot the one thing he takes with him on patrol  would have been tinted goggles or a wee piece of tinted glass to look into the sun to check for bandits. As they would obviously be aware of the Hun in the sun Rule. But WW2 pilots often where not issued tinted goggles as standard kit. I believe they who could afford them either had them tinted or paid for their own tinted goggles. I believe it wasn't till the later part of the war that pilots where given tinted goggles for scanning int the sun. And thus there on afterwards it became standard to fit a tinted visor on a pilots helmet as jets came into service.

I could be wrong like but being able to press say the shift key to tint the glare from the sun would be an advantage to all players but inherently it would and could possibly affect frame rates and i believe that is why it hasn't been introduced yet.

again i may be wrong

How many WWII fighters had a lil' sun screen like the 1973 Cesspool 150 I've been flying around???

What about sunglasses?

What about the sun just being a part of the game and keeping as is because it is as was (a handicap if you were facing it).   ;)

Your assumption is incorrect. An  AH day goes from 5:45 to 18:15 I.E. 12 hours 30 mins.

HiTech

Thanks for the answer, that definetley makes my assumption incorrect.  But would my assumtion still hold merit for why, when a map isn't rotated/changed/won, the sun seems roughly in the same position it was yesterday to a player fighting the same front on the same map and who roughly logged on to play today at the same time he did yesterday?

IE: the AH-sun takes 11hrs and 30minutes from when it was jumped (fast-forwarded) from setting to rising until it gets jumped to rising again?  Or is that 11hrs and 30 minutes an accelerated process in the MAs?

If it isn't an accelerated rate, then while not exactly a 24-hour repeating rotation, this would be a 23-hour rotation then?  It would still put the sun, ballpark, around the same area it was at yesterday for a player who logs on every day and consistently plays at the same time everyday for about the same duration as the day before, given the same map is up and they're fighting/flying in the same general direction.  I'm stil ltrying to come up with an explaination on why sometimes/rarely there are a few consecutive days of playing where you feel the sun is always working unfavorabley for you, but then it won't be a noticable factor for a very long time to come.

but how long does that 12h30m AH cycle take in our earth hours? :headscratch:

Yup, same question, is that time 1:1 or at an accelerated scale?

Babalonian: Assuming a 1:1 elapsed time ratio between AH time and real time, the different time cycles (frequency) between AH and real time results in:

(amplitudes different so that cycles are more readable)

AH time would operate at a 1.92 AH day (12.5 hour) cycles for every 1 real day (24 hour) cycle.  This difference in frequency results in an incremental 1 hour change in the arena for every 24 real hours of real time.

For instance (assuming 6:00-18:30 AH day cycle) let's say a player gets on a 8 AM real time every day and that the first day (Day 0) in AH is also 8 AM, we would get:

Day 0 Clock: 8 AM, AH_Clock: 8 AM
Day 1 Clock: 8 AM, AH_Clock: 7 AM
Day 2 Clock: 8 AM, AH_Clock: 6 AM (6:30 PM)
Day 3 Clock: 8 AM, AH_Clock: 5:30 PM

...and so on.

The best excuse possible!!!

Considering that Dan and his wife literally saved Matthew's life, and the difficulties the poor little guy has been
overcoming, I can't think of a single reason why we should not be proud of that family.
