Water is not simply a bit map, that parts that are, can already be changed per terrain.

I want to be sure I understand....
If I have a water bmp texture that looks like a "rough sea" as shown below, are you saying I can change that out to any other bmp I have created in the middle of a set up and use it on the same terrain after a terrain has been submitted?
That's what I was asking if I wasn't clear.
In other words I don't want to be locked into the water texture looking the same at all times. I wish for the ability to change the texture of the water at will, to visually simulate moving weather/wind.
It was my understanding that once a terrain is in use, that the look of the water texture would be constant at all times, and only Cloud bmp's could be swapped out during a set up or after a terrain has been submitted.
I understand manipulating color will change the "color" of the water but my focus is on its "texture" ie the ability to change the texture bmp's to produce the look of a calm sea.. stormy sea etc after a terrain has been submitted ..
