Is It Possible For Me To Fix My Issue With Instant View?
« on: August 26, 2011, 11:18:55 AM »
Hardware: CH Stuff.  I use the top 8-way hat on the stick for views, the pinky button as 'shift'.  I have everything configured in CH Manager.

Issue:  When I switch between views, it always flashes back to the front/default view.  If I check multiple views in rapid succession, I can see the gunsight because of the default view appearing every other time.

So basically, what's happening is if I look back-left, then straight back, I'll see a quick flash to the front.

Is there a way to prevent this?  Does this happen to the people that map their sticks directly in AH and not through CH Manager?

I realize I could use the snap view, but I've always played with an instant view.

Thanks.

I have ch gear and I use the AH programming and do NOT have  that issue. Try setting the views in the game and clear out your ch program. There are some cool things you can do with the ch program, but through the.years I have done pretty much everything I needed to with AH key mapping.

Thank you.

I've just finished assigning all the functions directly in AH, and it works like you said. :)

The downside is that I lost the multiple functions of the buttons (shift-button doing something else), but having a smooth transition in views trumps that.

You can still get a shift function by mapping the pinky button to stick mode 3. Copy mode 1 to mode 3 then change the commands you want shifted in mode 3. Set the pinky in mode 3 to stick mode 1. It will work the way you're used to.

Edit: I forgot to mention, set the pinky button so that the press is mode 3 and the release is mode 1.

I had set my look up as the pinky button. Holding the pinky in and adding any of the regular view buttons gave me a second complete set of views.

I don't know how the CH software works but I've had luck with both Saitek and Logitech's software by running the software but leaving the unshifted assignments unprogrammed in the software (programming it only in aces high).  Then I can still program the shifted commands in the software...
