once you have everything set the way you want, copy the entire settings directory somewhere safe on your hard drive. i tend to save settings, skins, sights and terrains folders just in case i find myself having to reinstall ah. everytime i make a change to my settings, i save a copy of the directory.

C:\Hitech Creations\Aces High\Settings is the folder your looking for.

Check your settings directory for a file similar to the name of your joystick. Maybe you did something and it got reassociated somehow. For example I have a device named "pedals" in my game controllers list. I will find a file in AH's "settings" directory with "pedals" in the name, often that being the name of the file.

If your stick has somehow received a new name, you will have multiple files. If the stick simply over-wrote the settings file of the same name, those settings are lost.

This is why you should periodically back up your settings directory. It also houses head positions for all the various planes' cockpits.
